Specialising in wetland habitat design, restoration and management for waterbirds and migratory species
Avifauna Research & Services have more than 40 years of experience working towards sustainable development with government, industry and community in Australia and sites along the East Asian Australasian Flyway.
• Design, construct, restoration of wetlands
An understanding of the function of wetland habitats for waterbirds is essential in our work. These include coastal estuaries and beaches as well as a whole suite of freshwater wetlands.
Our work involves a balance of wetland restoration of damaged wetlands, and the design construction where wetlands have been lost.
• Management of wetlands for waterbirds and migratory shorebirds
Wetlands need management to maintain integrity in a changing world, when letting nature take its course is not always a viable option.
We work with wetland site managers to impart our knowledge-base which ranges back as far as 1960. This is honed with experience in tackling wetland degradation and neglect in an ever-changing world.
